David Aymond, MD, SFHM is originally from Winnsboro, LA and made Vernon Parish his home after marrying his wife, Karra. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from University of Louisiana Lafayette. Dr. Aymond then pursued his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. After finishing medical school, he completed a Family Medicine Residency at LSU Health in Alexandria in 2014. Dr. Aymond then attended a fellowship program in Hospital Medicine at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He and his wife, Karra, moved back to Vernon Parish in 2015.
Dr. Aymond is the director of Intensive Care and Hospitalist services at Byrd Regional Medical Center. His specialty is providing high value critical care services in a low resource setting. He also works as an Intensivist in a closed ICU at Rapides Regional Medical Center, a level 2 trauma center. Dr. Aymond is also the medical director of Aymond Medical Spa and developed the medical weight loss program where he has helped hundreds of patients lose weight in a safe and efficient manner.
Dr. Aymond has focused his entire career on how to ensure patients have the same likelihood of survival regardless of the zip code they find themselves in when critical illness occurs. He has 3 children, all girls, who require his attention year round. Molly 11, Alivia 7, and Anna 3.

Karra Porter Aymond, MAPS, PA-C
OWNER & LEAD INJECTOR
Karra Porter Aymond, MAPS, PA-C is a native of Vernon Parish and the owner and lead injector of Aymond Medical Spa. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2009. She then went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from LSU Health Shreveport in 2012. Karra has worked as an Emergency Medicine PA and Urgent Care PA for 10 years before starting her career in aesthetics.
After shadowing plastic surgeons and other amazing injectors around Louisiana, she knew aesthetics would be a great field for her. After opening Aymond Medical Spa with her husband, Dr. David Aymond, Karra has consistently been training and keeping up with the newest and latest trends in aesthetics by attending conferences, networking with other injectors across the state, and continuing education courses.
Karra strives to help her patients gain more confidence in their outward appearance by enhancing their already natural beauty. Her goal is to provide the best treatments in our small town so people don’t have to travel elsewhere to get top of the line services, lasers, injectables, and skincare.
